Away from work

My first bike was a Raleigh Wayfarer 3-speed (dark blue). After a year I upgraded to a Coventry Eagle 5-speed (light green). A couple of years later, I part-exchanged the Coventry Eagle for my current mount, a 1978 Viscount Aerospace Sport 10-speed (ruby red). I also had a Dahon Speed D7 20″-wheel folding bike (light blue) which I used for about a year.

The Viscount is now over 45 years old (well, some of it is*), and still going strong. It is a bit special, and that is not just my opinion – see this CTC Forum thread. Also this board for the real fanatics.

* In fact the only original components are the frame and fork, the front wheel, and parts of the rear wheel. (I recently rebuilt that wheel with all new spokes.)
